Felice Gimondi Personal Bianchi Road Bicycle 1968
Felice Gimondi, nicknamed "The Phoenix", was the second cyclist (after Jacques Anquetil) to win all three Grand Tours of road cycling: Tour de France (1965), Giro d'Italia (1967, 1969, 1976) and Vuelta a España (1968). He is one of only seven cyclists to have done so.
Born into a modest family in Sedrina, Gimondi soon developed a passion for cycling and was Italy’s golden boy, dominating the amateur circuit and even competing in the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games. It was only a matter of time until Gimondi was scouted into the professional circuit and in 1965 the Salvarani Team got his signature. After signing for the team, Gimondi was sent to the Tour De France as a last-minute replacement, and...

restoring a 1992 Schwinn Highplains and it is my first experience with them. won't get jammed up with mud!
I believe that the French company mafac produced even better brakes
Love suntour
Is this the first front derailleur prototype in the world?
That’s what I put on my old road bike.
Schleift in jedem Gang.😊
Sick
They should've just made it a fixie. Those cogs are have a difference of like 2 or 3 teeth
In 1933, this made cyclists get rid of fixies! Before that they changed the clog by flipping the wheel before the climb or after the top. Freewheels were forbidden in TdF until 1937, let alone the derailleurs.
Schleift immer und in jedem Gang. 😢
Ach Du Scheiße.
Currentli there is nothing that is going to look stunning 40 years from now .
Thanks for sharing the video
I love old bikes because of the nostalgia. I have an 80’s Colnago Super that I saved up money for when I was 15. I bought it from a camera shop, whose owner was an Italian bike enthusiast and he had all the good stuff. Took me about 2 years to get that bike running. Campagnolo Super Record derailleurs. Universal brakes and crankset. Cinelli handlebars and some Mavic wheels I bought used. I probably put about $3000 in to that bike and for the 80’s, that was a lot of money.
I still have my Falcon Eddy Merckx Super Competition 102 that I raced on in the 70's. It cost over 500 pounds in 1972. It was an identical looking bike to this one in the video except came with a sloped crown chrome fork. Looking down at Eddy's photo on the headtube not looking calm and glamourous but with a look of determined agony on his face made me peddle at least 2 mph faster! It was a lot of fun feeling like Eddy Merckx even if only in my own head!
Cassette size? What is maximum teeth for this veloce?
You should straighten (up) the position of the fork. It makes too much noise, rubbing against the chain. Despite missing some components, the derailleur works quite well. I have a bke with one , mounted and ... NOS (in box, last example to leave the factory in 50´s).
Because you can put sweet anodized hangers on them. Can't do that with discs or v's.
Does those rims have groves? For more traction?! 🙀 I recently got a 80s British made Raleigh, everything original. But looking for ways to add more braking power. 🤔
Hi Would you like to sell your Caminagent Bike?
What's with the lame background "music"?
delta were crap, looked nice though
OMG!!!!…Sir…did you know your cogs are spinning in different directions 😳😳😳😳😳
To reply ppl on comment section. This era the cyclist on Tour de France needed to replace the entire wheel in order to change de gear ratio for climbing the mountains.
what's the brand name of those brakes? thanks!
Ambas hacen buen trabajo 👍
Whats model or name a Frame
Asi d simple era antes 🤷🏻♂️👍💪🏻
easy manteinance
I've got a Lotus Classique with the same, I don't know if they are really any better than other brakes of the time but they do look nice
I have it (champion du monde) in my benotto but the deraileur is in seat stay (1 chainring only)
And people complain about the racket from Chris King hubs...sheesh !
I loved Cantis on my 80's mountain bike, in my mind, better than V brakes.
❤❤❤❤
Looks like my old Shimano 105.
Why does it always have to be T•A cranks ?
0:44 Taking the yellow jersey into ruin ? LoL
Turn the cotter pins the right way i.e. when the crank is going down ,the cotter pin should be facing up. 👍🏻
No…Campagnolo Valentino
Fabulous video, appalling AI voice-over.
Gyro dee talya
0:44 “Taking the yellow jersey into ruin” LoL
Biankee as far as I know
Where is the tab to screw the number plate onto the frame?????
Cobalto -- lighter unit - simple to repair on the road...progressive braking
Dreadful commentary.
